A Fun and Impactful Way to Support Mental Health at your school.
Australia’s largest fitness-based mental health event is back, and this year, we’re calling on schools to step up and push for change! From 4 June to 26 June 2025, students, teachers, and school communities will come together to complete 3,214 push-ups, raising awareness for mental health and remembering the lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2023.
Why Get Your School Involved in the Push Up Challenge?
The Push-Up Challenge is more than just a fitness event—it’s an opportunity to:
Build Stronger Connections – Encourage teamwork and unity among students and staff.
Enhance Physical and Mental Wellbeing – Exercise improves mood, reduces stress, and builds resilience.
Support Critical Mental Health Services – Schools can choose to fundraise for Lifeline, headspace, or The Push for Better Foundation.
Empower Students to Be Mental Health Advocates – Daily mental health facts will educate students and encourage open discussions.
Foster a Positive and Inclusive School Culture – 99% of student ambassadors in 2024 reported that the challenge created a more connected and supportive environment.

How does the Push Up Challenge Work?
Nominate a Charity – Select Lifeline in your Local area as your school’s beneficiary, and help support your local Lifeline centre to train more crisis supporters in your community to help people in crisis.
Engage Students and Staff – Announce the challenge at assembly and recruit Push-Up Challenge Ambassadors from Year 10, 11, or 12 to lead the initiative.
Plan and Promote – Use the customised promotional materials, including posters, social media graphics, and email templates.
Track Progress & Learn – Log push-ups using The Push-Up Challenge app and engage with daily mental health tips.
Celebrate Your Success – Wrap up the challenge with a celebration event and recognise top fundraisers and participants.
