Last Friday, May 17th, we held the inaugural 135 Corporate Dash! It was a lively and friendly competition among our region’s business leaders to raise funds for Lifeline Geelong and promote awareness of mental health issues, including suicide prevention.
The Corporate Dash was a 135-metre-foot race* along the home straight at Geelong Racing Club. Business leaders sprinted out of the barriers to the winning post! On the day, 18 businesses took the track in two heats and a final, with participants choosing flamboyant attire.
The final was hotly contested, with Jobe Neal from Melbourne Video Agency taking 1st place and closely followed by Jarod Mason from Plan Group in 2nd and Cameron Walker from Walker Safety Services in 3rd.
Andy and Hattie Mathers from Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority were presented with the highest fundraiser award, as they raised over $3,600!
Nathan George from Pixeld also went above and beyond hosting a live webinar while dashing!
Our Dashers raised over $33,000, equivalent to answering over 840 crisis calls from help seekers or training and mentoring 10 new crisis call takers here in Geelong. Every dollar helps us save more lives and give hope to those in their darkest moments.
We are very grateful to all those who helped bring this event to life. Thanks to Zara from Oxygen College for providing fabulous music and Janette from The Gordon for being our First Aid officer.
*The 135 metres is representative of the number of people impacted by a tragic loss by suicide, including family members, work colleagues, friends, and first responders.

It's not too late to donate! You can help us save lives.
