What a beautiful day we shared with the Geelong community at the 2022 Geelong Cup. As co-charity partners with the youth mental health organisation Read the Play, Lifeline Geelong & SWV hosted ‘The Paddock’ marquee. Lifeline Ambassadors and Radio Personalities, Daryl Reader & Roxie Bennett from Bay 93.9 FM and the Matt Baird Duo provided fun and entertainment throughout the day. With the support of the marquee guests, over $6,000 was raised through our raffle and silent auction activities. These funds will be directed to important crisis support and mental health programs conducted in Geelong.

We would like to give a big heartfelt thanks to our corporate supporters that provided our amazing raffle and silent auction prizes: Geelong Times / Novotel Geelong / Australian Open / Geelong Racing Club / Portarlington Golf Club Pro-Shop / CentreStage Pty Ltd / Geelong Arts Centre / Melbourne - Escape Rooms / Robin Brockett Wines / Wah Bah / Freckleberry Chocolate Factory / Picnic Season / Next Level Skirmish / Adventure Park Geelong, Victoria / Zap Fitness 24/7 / Sea All Dolphin Swims / Crew Faced Makeup Artistry / The Langham / Geelong Football Club

Thank you also to Luisa Drent and the students from The Gordon, who gave their time and expertise to help with bump-in and to ‘dress’ the marquee to give it an extra welcoming feel.

Nationally, Lifeline’s 4,000 crisis supporters will respond to more than one million calls for help this year. Lifeline Geelong is the home of the largest crisis support call centre in Australia and is receiving record numbers of people reaching out to navigate their mental health challenges, including those brought on by recent the floods and the COVID 19 pandemic.

We thank all those that attended this event, your support helps to fund our vital life-saving counselling services, crisis calls, and mental health support for those in our community.
