Walk with Lifeline Newcastle & Hunter for World Suicide Prevention Day
Let's unite and walk together as a community to bring hope and change lives.
You can walk to remember a loved one, as a personal tribute for a friend or family member, or to show your support for Australians experiencing emotional distress or mental illness. Your participation will signify your commitment to raising awareness, eliminating stigma, and taking action to prevent further loss of life through suicide.
While each loss is deeply felt, there is hope in our collective efforts to prevent suicide.
Together, we’ll walk from Dixon Park Surf Club to Merewether Baths and back—a symbolic journey that unites us in connection, compassion and hope. By coming together, we can raise awareness, break down stigma and help prevent future deaths by suicide.

Walk with us to raise awareness and support for suicide and suicide prevention, so together we can move out of the shadows and into the light towards an Australia free of suicide.
Everything you need to know:
- In case of light rain, make sure to bring wet weather gear. We will let registered participants know by 5pm the day prior if the event needs to be cancelled.
- The Lions Club will be cooking up a BBQ Breakfast, and there will be a coffee van on-site.
- Participation is free, but we kindly ask that you register so we can keep in touch about changes to the walk and cater accordingly.
- This walk is wheelchair and pram friendly.
- Dogs on lead are welcome.
- Paid Corporate team sponsorship is also available via the registration link. We would love to see local business support local Lifeline services through team sponsorship.
