"It has been a pleasure being a part of the Lifeline family since 2023, and I am looking forward to continuing to work together to support the growing number of help seekers who reach out to us in need each day.".

Welcome Nicki Batagol as the New Chair of Lifeline Direct

We are delighted to welcome Nicki Batagol as the new Chair of Lifeline Direct (LLD).

Nicki is a dedicated community leader who is passionate about raising awareness, reducing stigma around mental health, and encouraging early intervention. Her impressive track record includes serving as a Councillor with the City of Stonnington and as a Non-Executive Director of Mental Health First Aid. She has also previously held leadership roles as the Chair of PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia) and Emerge Women and Children Support Services and as a Non-Executive Director of On The Line Australia. Nicki joined the Lifeline Direct Board in 2023 following the amalgamation of Lifeline with On The Line Australia.

With lived experience of perinatal depression, Nicki understands firsthand the importance of accessible and quality support services for those in need. Her professional background as a management consultant specialising in change management and workforce transformation has seen her work across various industries, including government, professional services, resources, and the not-for-profit sector in Australia and London.

Nicki shared her enthusiasm for her new role, stating:

"It is a great honour to become the next Chair of Lifeline Direct. Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to Steve Moylan for his dedication and commitment to the role since the amalgamation with On The Line Australia.

I feel incredibly privileged to work with the current board members, Luke, the management team, staff, and volunteers at LLD to deliver crisis support and related mental health and suicide prevention services across our geographical footprint. This is an area of passion for me, and I have been dedicated to it since joining PANDA in 2011. Our work is so impactful and deeply rewarding, whether that be answering the phones, providing in-shift support, delivering training, engaging communities, raising money through fundraising and our retail stores, or working in corporate services."

Please join us in welcoming Nicki to her new role as Chair of LLD. We look forward to her leadership and vision as we continue to provide life-saving crisis support and services to our communities.
