The iconic Push-Up Challenge returns in 2025 to the Northern Rivers, bringing communities together from June 4-26 to raise awareness and vital funds for mental health services. This 23-day fitness journey isn't just about building physical strength; it's about creating a powerful movement for mental health awareness and support and remembering those lost to suicide.

A Challenge with Purpose

Each year, The Push-Up Challenge sets a target based on a significant mental health statistic. In 2025, participants will aim to complete 3,214 push-ups, representing the number of Australians who tragically lost their lives to suicide in 2023.

This isn't just a number it's a reminder of why this challenge matters.

The Impact So Far

Since beginning in 2017, The Push-Up Challenge has become Australia's largest mental health and fitness initiative:

  • Over 1 billion push-ups were completed collectively
  • More than 600,000 Australians have participated
  • Over $50 million has been raised for mental health services like Headspace, Lifeline and The Push For Better Foundation nationwide.

How the Challenge Works

  1. Set your goal: Take on the entire 3,214 push-ups or choose the 50% option (1,607 push-ups)
  2. Form your team: Gather friends, family or colleagues to push together
  3. Learn daily: Each day's push-up target corresponds to a mental health statistic, providing education alongside your workout
  4. Track progress: Use the dedicated app to log push-ups, monitor achievements, and engage in friendly competition
  5. Fundraise: Support Lifeline's critical mental health services in your community
